Less than one year after hitting a million files uploaded, we have hit the 5 million mark.
We continue to serve up hundreds of terabytes of data every month to millions of users.
The community is the only reason Image Chest can be successful and I appreciate everyone who continues to use the site and spread the word.

Work continues on the site rebuild which will be followed by mobile apps thereafter.

Image Chest is a site that costs quite a bit to keep the lights on. We serve up hundreds of terabytes of data every month to millions of users around the globe. Ad revenue is able to cover that cost, (for the most part) but it fluctuates a lot as our costs continue to rise.

We have had a number of users who have asked to support Image Chest. We wanted to offer the ability to support us, while also gaining some perks at the same time.

Today, we launch Image Chest Gold.

Image Chest Gold subscribers browse the site ad-free, gain some additional features, and support Image Chest directly, outside the realm of advertising.

This does not mean that it costs money to use Image Chest going forward. The ad-supported version you are using at this moment will always stay that way, supported by ads.

Today we have rolled out two-factor authentication.

Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security for your Image Chest account, designed to ensure that you're the only one able to access your account, even if someone else knows your password.
If enabled, you will also need the 6 digit code from your authentication application as well as your password to successfully login.

This new feature can be enabled on the security page in your profile. It is currently only available to accounts created directly at Image Chest with an e-mail and password.

Due to popular demand, we have also added an option on your account page in your profile to set a default post view. Vertical is enabled by default, but you may also now designate the grid view to override as well.

Today we launch the Image Chest Shop.

A lot of folks have asked about donating to support the site, which is much appreciated, but we'd rather you get something too.
It isn't cheap to run a site like Image Chest, and things like this go a long way to help support the site if you appreciate it, and get some cool stuff as well.

There are various apparel items, stickers, mugs and glasses, and more with plans for more stuff in the future.

We are still working on some features and requests we've received behind the scenes as well as laying the ground work to create Android and iOS apps.

Today we crossed the milestone of one million files uploaded to Image Chest; A quarter million of which were uploaded in the last 30 days. As a side note, Image Chest has served up over 235 TB of data in the last 30 days alone.

Since I launched Image Chest in 2019, it has been a wild ride filled with challenges and growth but more importantly an awesome community that has persisted through those times of growth and challenge. I am deeply humbled, and very appreciative of everyone that has given Image Chest a chance.

The growth of files has been exponential, so I doubt it takes long to reach 2 million. Based on current estimates we will hit it by the end of the year with ease.
